Trick or Treat 2019

Dear Author,

We’ve matched! That means you’re already awesome in my book. I love all of these fandoms equally and can’t wait to see what you come up with. It’s my first time doing Trick or Treat so I take a broad view on both. If you feel like writing a sweet ‘trick’ or an angsty ‘treat’, don’t let me stop you! If you would like to know me better as a reader/writer, I am asuralucier on Ao3.

My DNWs are:

-AUs (Canon Divergence Fine and Encouraged) - normally, I love AUs but I'd rather not for any of these fandoms in particular since I love these fandoms as themselves and would rather read things that are set in canonverse. But honestly I have a very loose definition of Canon Divergence anyway, so you’ve got a lot of leeway. Example: I would consider “Coffee shop AU but still takes place in canonverse” divergent.)
-Anything involving space or non-canon supernatural creatures
- Smut specific DNWs: rape/non-con, abo-related sexual activity, anything that should be done on the toilet, animals, sexual activity involving characters under 16 (ftb or mentions fine).
- Fics featuring kid characters that are not in canon. I don't mind them turning up; what I do mind is their taking over the plot.
- Character Bashing by narrative (characters taking the piss out of each other is fine, with my fandoms it’s probably a given!)
- Second person POV

General likes:

+ I love unresolved sexual tension (UST). I want to squirm with the characters and honestly, if you include this, I’m just as happy for it not to be resolved.
+ I love characters who READ. I also like getting strange recommendations off of fanfics I read. So please, if you have characters read, I will be so so happy. On that note, I love love literary allusions, philosophising about history and the nature of time, banter, irony, and well-thought out cringe. Also WORDPLAY, PUNS? Nothing is too silly or obscure.
+ I love food porn/drinks porn. The second one sounds odd, but I once read a story that spent so much time describing cocktails and I fell in love. So yes, I’m all about characters enjoying their food and cooking and drinking.
+ Angst. I love love angst. Give me all the angst. Reasons for angst can include: moral ambiguity, guilt, failed ambitions, thoughtful portrayals of grief, depression, PTSD, lost loves and all the rest. I also don't mind character death, but please please don't let it be a cheap plot point for angst.
+ Other general things that strike my fancy: loyalty/friendship, mindgames, locked room scenarios, lush descriptions of feelings.
+ Smut likes: teasing, helping each other undress/ruined clothing/frottage, blow jobs, tattoo licking, sex in semi public places, voyeurism, phone sex, fluid sexual dynamics (ie no strict top/bottom roles), edging, pain kink/painplay, rimming (for m/m ships only), fingering, cunnilingus, awkward sex, overstimulation

Fandom: John Wick (Movies): Marcus (John Wick); Winston (John Wick)

+My Thoughts on Marcus: I am ever interested in Dafoe’s comment on Marcus as “the father of the pride,” wherein he slaughters all the cubs who aren’t worth it. Why doesn’t he ‘slaughter’ John? What’s their history? Who made the decision not to slaughter him (I mean Marcus)? Why does he like fruit smoothies? WHY DOES HE ANSWER THE DOOR IN HIS BATHROBE WHEN VIGGO COMES TO SEE HIM IN JW1? I have so many questions.I mean, if you wanted to write me crackfic about Marcus being on the phone to customer service for his broken VitaMix I would be all up in that. (You get mega bonus points if this happens on a job.)

I love all sorts of character study and genfic, but aside from John I would ship him with Gianna (whose name is basically John), Perkins or Viggo. I’m interested in gen interactions between Marcus and the following: Winston, Santino, lol Iosef why not. (I would also be interested in gen variations of ships already mentioned above.)

My Thoughts on Winston: I am so interested in the fact that Winston seems to be so willing to break the rules for John (and other people?). I would be very interested in reading a Winston-gen piece in which he gets his starts - is he a bit of a smart arse and a go-getter? I’d love him organising street-gangs, or being a very upstart bellboy a la Grand Budapest Hotel (and being grumpy about his uniform). I would also love to hear about Big Mistakes he’s made about the Continental, and perhaps learn the reasons he keeps making these same mistakes re: John or other people.

I love all sorts of character study and genfic, but aside from John I would ship him with Charon or the Bowery King. I’m interested in gen interactions between Winston and the following: Marcus, the D’Antonios, the Adjudicator (previous missteps? Yes please!), and Harry. (I would also be interested in gen variations of ships already mentioned above.)

Fandom: Only Lovers Left Alive (2013): Adam (Only Lovers Left Alive), Eve (Only Lovers Left Alive)

My Thoughts on Adam: I am interested in all permutations of his relationship with Eve, but I am also interested in how he came to be interested in music; how his weird symbiotic relationship started with Ian, and how he came to own his creepy old house in Detroit (also, why Detroit)? I only ship him with Eve, but am interested in all manners of gen interactions.

My Thoughts on Eve: I am interested in all permutations of her relationship with Adam, but I’m also interested in Eve herself as a person. It is implied that Eve is much older than Adam. What did she do before he came along? What’s the nature of her relationship with her sister Ava? Why are they ‘sisters’? How did Eve come to meet Kit Marlowe (as opposed to Shakespeare himself?) Feel free to go wild with history here. I really only ship her with Adam but I would welcome pretty much anything.

Fandom: Big Little Lies: Celeste Wright

My Thoughts on Celeste: As a head’s up, I have only seen the first season but I don’t mind spoilers, but do keep in mind what I write here is all based on the first season only! I don’t mind if you want to add to it or indeed, bring in Meryl Streep to heat things up. Celeste was my favourite in the series and it just broke my heart that she wasn’t able to see Perry for who he really was. That said, I’d love something to just...fix me?

I ship her with Madeline (would love to know how they met etc) or Jane (would love to see a fluff-angsty piece but also without too much focus on Perry.) I was really amazed that the show handled Max as it did and I’m intrigued by Celeste’s relationship with her sons/Ziggy (making a DNW exception here). Or would love a pre canon divergent piece where Celeste doesn’t fall in love with/marry Perry after all.

UnREAL: Quinn King; Rachel Goldberg

My Thoughts on Quinn: First, let’s just get it out of the way, WHY ARE YOU WITH CHET? I understand that she’s invested a lot of time in Chet but that still doesn’t make any sense to me. I understand that he grew throughout the series but honestly come on girl, you can do better. Anything with Quinn being bamf with a vodka in hand would do me. How about the other times we don’t get to see re: her going toe to toe with Gary? What if she kept the baby? What if she retired? I don’t mind if you include Chet but I would rather they be broken up or for Rachel to say what I just said above while Quinn is cheating on Chet with Rachel. I really only ship her with Rachel but I would also love weird mentorship vibes with Madison.

My Thoughts on Rachel: WOW, hello, my favourite television trainwreck. Shiri Appleby was AMAZING In this role, and I would love anything that celebrates that. I would love to know how Rachel got into the business (through Quinn??) and all the other times she tried to leave. Also that incident pre-canon when she drove a car through the final rose ceremony calling the show Satan’s asshole. Um. WHY?

I obviously ship her with Quinn, but I would also love to receive a post S3 AU with Serena still not being able to find a man and Rachel not being well. I also (probably against the tide of fandom) really like Tommy? So I would love a S4 post canon AU involving him, if that strikes your fancy.
