Thanks for dropping by, whether we’ve matched or you’re considering treating me (!!) I’m asuralucier on Ao3 if you’d like to get to know me more as a reader/writer. I ship basically nothing but rarepairs, so I’m always really happy when RMSE rolls around. I’d love any of these and if my specifics don’t thrill you, I’m always here for fic I didn’t know I wanted.

This year, I’m asking for the following fandoms: American Psycho (2000); Nightcrawler (2014); Snowpiercer (2013); Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken | Love in Thoughts (2004); Law & Order; History Boys (2006)

Just to get it out of the way, my DNWs are:

-Non-con, anything sexual involving animals, the toilet, tentacles, non-human biology, underage (sexual activities between characters under 16; references/implications fine).
-Second person POV - this is defined as having the narrating character take up the perspective of “You.” If they are talking aloud and happen to mention “you” to an imaginary audience or something that’s fine.
-Non-canonical kid characters. A note on canonical kids - I’m happy for them to turn up, but I’d rather them not take over the plot.
-Character bashing by narrative. Piss-taking fine and encouraged!
-Modern/Mundane AUs or AUs involving space, zombies, werecreatures, or a/b/o dynamics. If you want to have the characters still meet cute in a cafe in-universe or everything is the same except one character is a vampire, then please do! As long as I can recognise the world as canon I will be happy.

General Likes (by no means a complete list)
+ Sexual Tension - Happy for it to be angsty, cracky, anything in between. Just make me squirm while I totally want the characters to bang. (This applies to / relationships only. I’d like & relationships to stay gen.)
+Literary/Philosophical Allusions, extended metaphors, color theory, wordplay/banter, absurdity - the more obscure the better! I also love characters who read and/or have weird jobs. Pack in a strange little detail somewhere and I’m sure I’ll love it.
+___!Porn: Identity porn, suit porn, food porn, drinks porn, locations porn? Is that a thing? I just like lush descriptions of things.
+Angst. I love love angst. Give me all the angst. Reasons for angst can include: moral ambiguity, guilt, failed ambitions, infidelity, thoughtful portrayals of grief, depression, PTSD, lost loves and all the rest. I also don't mind character death, but please please don't let it be a cheap plot point for angst.
+Smut likes: teasing, helping each other undress/ruined clothing/frottage, blow jobs, tattoo licking, sex in semi public places, voyeurism, phone sex/voice kink, fluid sexual dynamics (no strict top/bottom roles), edging, pain kink/painplay, rimming (for m/m ships only), fingering, cunnilingus, awkward sex, overstimulation, dubious consent (defined as the character being dub-conned still having some form of agency, even if s/he doesn’t have all the information to hand.), differences in sexual experience, sensory deprivation, impact play, roleplaying, breathplay/choking

Fandom: American Psycho (2000): Patrick Bateman/Donald Kimball; Patrick Bateman/Marcus Halberstram

Man, what a movie. I’d love anything you want to tell me. I’ve also read the book so if you want to test me with an Easter egg you’re more than welcome. I really like the satiric tone that the movie struck and uh, anything with suits and restaurants just does me. This is also the canon for awkward and disturbing sex. If that is your jam, welcome! Stay a while. Or maybe, if you wanted to turn American Psycho into a David Lynch horror? An Adam Sandler rom-com where a guy is in love with versions of himself but doesn’t know it yet? I’m here for all of it.

If there is anything that Patrick is in love with, it’s himself. I would therefore love some form of Marcus Halberstram as a weird doppelganger type either aiding or working against Patrick as he kills more people. We certainly never see him in the movie (or did we?) and...Or maybe Marcus gets arrested and blackmails Patrick into something. Or maybe Marcus went to Yale because y’know, that Yale thing; or maybe inappropriate fratbro banter maybe gone a bit far.

I’m also into a weird marriage of convenience thing where Marcus and Patrick get married to avoid prosecution if that’s the road you want to go down. Let’s pretend it isn’t quite the eighties.**

**I’m aware of the derogatory language used in both the book and the film. I don’t mind it in fic if the context fits, but I don’t want it to be the only thing present and take over the fic.

Well hello Willem Dafoe-shaped person doing slightly shady things. I don’t exactly know what I want. Maybe they keep getting lunch and arguing about culture. Maybe Kimball goes away after a while because he “found” Paul Allen and Patrick tries to convince him that this isn’t true by the way of more lunches and obsessive stalking or maybe even kidnapping. I hear Newport is lovely this time of year...

Fandom: Nightcrawler (2014): Louis Bloom/Rick

Man, this movie. It is so unashamedly L.A. and creepy as fuck. Jake Gyllenhaal’s hollow-eyed stare gave me goosebumps and I kept feeling so sorry for Rick but I definitely shipped it.

Dubious consent (to extremes, if that’s what you’d like) seems a very obvious road to go down here. Given how Lou treats Nina in the film, I’m wondering if Rick puts himself forward for sex/sex related things in order to earn more than 15$ a night, perhaps with the line “I can take more of your shit than she can.” I’m also wondering if Rick is working behind the scenes with the cops to avoid prosecution and he has to wise up Right Quick. Does he succeed or does Lou find out?

I have no idea how this would even work, but I’m a fan of them being accidentally roommates.

I would like Lou to feel guilty near the end of the film and maybe he hallucinates Rick in the faces of his various interns as he gets to be more and more successful. Or maybe Rick doesn’t die at the end and Lou takes care of him, but knowing Lou, that’s probably going to come with strings attached.

Fandom: Snowpiercer (2013): Gilliam/Grey, Curtis Everett/Edgar, Gilliam/Wilford

This film astounds me. I love the worldbuilding; I love the character work they managed to cram into a very actiony thriller and most of all, I love that Word of God says half of these characters are canonically gay.

For Gilliam/Grey, I just want to know more about Grey’s tattoo of Gilliam’s name over his heart. Did Gilliam tattoo him? Does it stand in for marriage in a world that probably has ceased to recognise things like that? Given their age difference, I’m very into the idea that Grey warms Gilliam’s bed for him as a thing, and then one night Gilliam invites him to stay. I’d love Gilliam telling him about how the world used to be, and I would be all over Grey being jealous over the fact that Gilliam spends ages on the phone with fucking Wilford. How does Gilliam reassure him?

For Curtis/Edgar, just um, angsty porn? I’m also into the idea that Curtis couldn’t get over his guilt vis-a-vis killing Edgar’s mother and almost eating baby Edgar and uh maybe telling Edgar about this at some point. Perhaps even during post-coitus for maximum impact.

I don’t want Edgar to die! That canon divergence where Curtis opts to save Edgar instead and they put their heads together to find another way.

That once where Curtis catches Edgar masturbating and decides to teach him how to be less obvious, given the fact that there’s no privacy in the tail section. And then oops it happens more than once.

For Gilliam/Wilford: What was their life together like before the freeze? I’m headcanoning that they were secretly married and had to put that aside for the sake of Humanity. What do they talk about on the phone? How did Wilford end up in the front of the train and Gilliam in the tail section? Did they have a Dumbledore/Grindelwald type falling out? What if their situation were reversed? Would Gilliam be slightly kinder to the people in the tail section and Wilford more ruthless in a quest for balance?

Fandom: Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken | Love in Thoughts (2004): Günther Scheller/Paul Kranz

I would love...anything? Maybe Günther is not dead at the end of the film, merely in a coma and Paul visits him every day. Then he wakes up. Because my heart needs it. Or maybe Günther who has a thing for Paul knows that Paul is in love with his sister and tells Paul that his sister doesn’t like sexually inexperienced men. So uh. (Feel free to get dub-conny here). Or maybe the pact goes through and Paul and Günther have to deal with the afterlife, such as it is.

Fandom: Law & Order: Jack McCoy/Mike Cutter; Mike Cutter/Cyrus Lupo

Jack/Mike: There’s a lot of parallels between Mike and early seasons zealous Jack. Lean into that! Or maybe when Mike shows up as Jack’s EADA in season 18, one thing they forgot to tell people is that they used to sleep together. Oops. What’s the story there?

They both have Daddy issues up the wazoo. I don’t want Daddykink, but i’m happy for their relationship to be unhealthy due to their lacking relationships with their fathers because I think that would be super interesting. (By Daddykink I mean please don't have Mike call Jack "Daddy" under any circumstance. Everything else in the realm of unhealthy is fair game.)

My kingdom for a Jack/Mike take where Jack (accidentally) comes out to New York while he’s running for New York DA and Mike is like wtf. How does their relationship change now that everyone knows about it? (Prompt specific DNW: please please no gaynst, I’m more interested in the logistics of things. For example, Mike can’t take public transport without getting mobbed by gossip rags or something.)

Mike/Lupo: THEY SHARED A HOTEL ROOM. Do something with that, please. I also adore that Mike takes such an interest in Lupo’s burgeoning legal career. So uh, sexy legal studying session? I have no clue how this would work but if you pull it off, I salute you.

I like the idea that they seem to be both fairly closed off types who actually have a lot in common (especially when it comes to things they don’t talk about) so...maybe Lupo finds Mike after a case gone wrong and they commiserate together? Bonus for an awkward morning after or something.

Fake dating? Undercover? Something tropey would make my heart sing.

Lupo is Mike’s security detail during a very high profile case. They get to know each other a lot better.

Lupo saves Mike’s life in that toilet in that one episode. Feelings realization?

Fandom: The History Boys (2006): Stuart Dakin/Tom Irwin

Gay schoolboys and an ill-advised teacher/student crush that was never really consummated despite they agreed to push the boat out? (Because of very conveniently selective amnesia, yes please.) Also 80s music! Literary everything. Basically, there is nothing I don’t love about this canon and if we match on this, the world is your oyster. I also love all of the other characters in this so if people want to pop up, that’s fine by me. I’ve read the play and seen the film and love both equally.

That being said, GLASSES KINK GLASSES KINK. No but more seriously, please give me the blow job of the century. I am so sad it never happens. I’m...assuming that Irwin forgot about Sunday but not the fact that he’s hot for Dakin? I don’t know, the ending just never really worked for me. Please help me.

Irwin goes back to school for real to Oxford this time. Dakin is amused/turned on/confused. Or in a divergent route, maybe Irwin is the youngest SCR member of some college and he’s interested in taking Dakin down a notch. He...doesn’t expect Dakin to be quite so into it. Also I’d love for Irwin to be from somewhere also not London, I’d love Portsmouth or Cornwall or maybe even Wales. Actually Wales would make my freakin day. Maybe Irwin’s younger brother is shaped like Iwan Rheon.

Recycling from Yuletide because I still really want it. I kind of want Dakin to become a lawyer consultant for the Beeb’s new show and Irwin still works there. Or Dakin has become an actor in something that Irwin consults on. Because why wouldn’t he?

Good ol’ English road trip. Bonus points for visiting obscure places. The car breaks down and they have to snuggle to keep warm in the backseat. I am a simple soul. And then they get arrested for public indecency or something and Scripps has to bail them out. (This is seriously all optional, I’m just thinking aloud.)
